Welcome to Vaultlet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Vaultlet platform and services provided by Vaultlet LLC ("Vaultlet," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Description of Service

Vaultlet is a document management platform that allows you to:

Upload and store documents securely
Organize and categorize your documents
Share documents with others through secure links

2. Account Registration

To use Vaultlet, you must create an account. You agree to:

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Vaultlet to:

Store documents you do not have the legal right to possess
Share documents containing malware, viruses, or harmful code
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
Use the service for fraudulent purposes

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of all documents and content you upload to Vaultlet. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

License to Vaultlet

By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

Store and backup your content on our servers
Display your content to you and those you authorize
Process your content to provide our services (such as generating thumbnails or document analysis)

This license is solely for the purpose of providing the Vaultlet service.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and share any content. You agree that your content does not violate any third party's rights.

5. Document Sharing

When you share documents through Vaultlet:

You control who can access your shared documents
You can revoke access at any time
Recipients must agree to these Terms to access shared content
You remain responsible for the content you share

6. Privacy and Security

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. We implement security measures to protect your documents, but no system is completely secure.

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
Suspend service in case of security concerns

8. Intellectual Property

The Vaultlet platform, including its design, features, and technology, is owned by Vaultlet LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of our platform.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

Vaultlet is a document storage and sharing platform. We do not verify the accuracy, legality, or authenticity of documents you upload or receive through the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VAULTLET LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vaultlet LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination:

Your documents will be deleted within 30 days
Any shared links will become inaccessible
Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these Terms with or without notice.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

15. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Vaultlet regarding the service
Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right
Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent
